We Are Getting Closer!

Well, I still have another week before I can get back into my classroom.  In the meantime, I have been preparing as much as I can from home.
Today I am linking up with

First off here are my recent purchases:
This rug will go in my classroom library.  I found it at Big Lots.

These Jack Hartmann CD's were on sale at nestlearning.com

Then, I got this Filetastic from Mardel's.  I still need to get some neat folders to place in them and find the perfect place to hang it in my classroom.

Now for my Monday Made It!
#1:  I made my bucketfiller pocket posters.  I plan to use these to go with the gold tags idea over at Kristin's Teeny Tiny Teacher!  Check out her post!  I am so excited to try this out.  I was ready for a change.

#2
Recently, my family watched the show, Hey Kids, Let's Cook!  We decided to try out the Pepperoni Pizza Soup and Cheesy Breadsticks. Yummy!

First Grade Skill Rings at 1st Grade Hip Hip Hooray!

I have not posted in awhile.  We had another great camping trip with close friends.  This time we enjoyed the beaches of Lake Michigan....

and some thrills at Michigan's Adventure!

I want to share with you a blog that I learned about last week.  I was instantly impressed!  Michele at 1st Grade Hip Hip Horray! has a great blog and a tpt Store!  I first heard about her blog through Primary Graffiti where Michele's FREE Common Core Skill Ring/Assessment package-1st Grade was highighted.

This freebie gives you a great look at what her Skill Rings are all about!  I was instantly intrigued and had to learn more!  After I downloaded here freebie, Michelle also sent me her Common Core Skill Ring/Assessment-Math 1st Grade Packet!

She has skill ring packets for all subject areas to cover all of the Common Core areas.  Each student has two rings.  One for the skills they are practicing and one for the skills that they have learned.  Vocabulary posters and more are included!
This is an AWESOME way for your students to take ownership of their own learning and keeping track of their successes!  I am looking forward to implementing this into my classroom this year!  Be sure to check out her blog and tpt store!
